warped brake rotors are a myth? apparently you have never machined rotors or drums, or even witnessed it being done. they get warped and the drums get out of round. you can see it while the lathe is removing material or you can check the runout with a mic.
alot of times brake vibration is caused by a mechanic reinstalling a rotor with debris or rust trapped behind it, when installed this also causes runout

Yes sir. Heres the link to them. Then I just found some clear replacement marker lights. all together it was about $200.

As old as the truck is, replacing the vaccuum lines would be a cheap start to eliminate possible problems. They are cheap enough to just get a roll and do the whole engine bay. Plus you can get different colors if you want to go showy with it or color code different areas in the engine bay.

Fun adventures with brake drums today. I have come across a few shoddy mechanic's jobs while I have been working on this truck, but this one takes the cake:

One of these things is not like the other. I learned a valuable lesson though. Always check BOTH sides when you are inspecting the brakes. I cheated and only inspected the driver's side before and this is what I found today when I pulled off the passenger side drum. Missing a spring and the e-brake cable guide. The shoes look like they had been replaced, so whoever did this job left the spring and guide out because it wasn't like they were flopping around in there. Wow.

Good news....my brakes feel stronger than ever and my e-brake is pretty damn solid. The bad news is that I can still feel the pulsing so I guess I will have to get the drums turned or replaced.

Have the same issue with the pulsing. Glad I'm not the only one!

Rear brakes and differential fluid done. Once I got the drums turned and the brakes adjusted properly, it eliminated the pulsing feeling. Victory! Today it's vacuum lines. Hopefully that gets rid of the CEL.

I'm looking for advice on shocks. It rarely leaves the pavement and when it does it's for fairly well-maintained gravel roads. I'd like to leave open the possibility of leveling the front end with some moog cc824 or cc844 springs in the future, but that will come if and when I replace the steering and replace the alignment bushings so I only have to align it one time. So for now, just shocks. I'm pretty sure the shocks on there are the originals unless they were replaced at some point with a new set of motorcraft's.

Any and all advice appreciated. Thanks in advance.

As cheap as they are, I'd go back with an OEM or close to it. When you start upgrading the shocks for minimal offroad, it gets a little expensive. Unless you're going to a Baja race, stockers (replacements) will do just fine. I believe the 2WD and 4WD are different full stroke lengths. I could be wrong though so don't quote me on it. Lol.
