Default That timing thingy that goes on top of balancer

Here's a pic of my balancer this morning. My friend said "hmmm, looks like the line inside the circle is NOT your TDC". I thought it was. He looked around and it should look like the piece on the right of the picture below is bent and that's where the timing should be. Basically, I missed it in the picture but just on top of the pic below is the piece that should line up with the timing marks.

Question, if this thing is kinda bent, how do I know I bent it enough to be correct?

Maybe you should go get a new one ? And that point should end up at 10 to 12 degrees Before TDC

In your top picture you can see one of the 2 bolts that hold it on. You could probably just bend yours back, but it won't be dead on accurate maybe. Probably close enough and then fine tune from there.

That's exactly what I did. I just made sure the flat side was parallel to line markings.

This will be my first time using a timing light. Hope I don't f* this up! As I recall reading somewhere, I need to take off the SPOUT.

My friend has an old school timing light, I need to remove the #1 cable and insert something inside, and then put the cable back in.
