Removing Ball Joints from Knuckle
I got a replacement steering knuckle and new ball joints, I figured I would put the new ones in before I tore the truck apart. Only problem is I can't get the old ones out. Any suggestions on getting them out? I have a ball joint press and tried pushing them out, since the knuckle is loose I can't get enough torque on it to separate the joint from the knuckle. Also been beating on it with a mini sledge. I just soaked it with PB blaster and came in to get some advice.

I was able to get the lower ball joint out. Still can't budge the upper. Dented the middle of the flat end trying to pound it out. A lot more PB Blaster and let it sit overnight. Hopefully someone has a tip for me that doesn't involve a torch.
Every video I could find is the upper ball joint and control arm for the newer f150's or just the lower one for this gen.

Well I broke down and ordered an air compressor and impact driver, along with some other random air stuff. I've wanted an AC for a long time just for tires and shop air but couldn't justify the purchase for the little use I had for it. The way I look at things by buying it I'm saving money as it would cost at least $400 a side to do the upper and lower ball joints and inner and outer wheel bearings at a shop. So I just ordered one, kind of excited to finally have an AC.

Well it took longer for me to remove everything from boxes and packaging then it did to remove the stuck ball joint and press the new ones in. Gotta say, Air Compressor-I'm lovin it!
