Default Recommanded Tire Pressure with a 600lbs load

I am driving cross country and will have about 600lbs in the bed, the tires are currently at 35 psi cold, should I change the Tire pressure at all to compensate for the load?

Thanks

Mike

what tires do you have? and adding more pressure just makes for a faster blowouts as long as you have the properly load range of tires you should be fine.

if theyre capable of the load which im sure they are its fine the only time you should deflate your tires is if you need alot of traction off road other then that keep them at the specified psi

Works for me. My truck rides the best w/ my motorcycle strapped to the bed, which is a few pound over 600. (it thinks it's actually doing something for a change)

Next you buy tires make sure you get the LT series tires. You are currently running passenger car tires and are right against the max load for the tires, as Ford was recommending tires that would barely carry the shipping weight of the truck.
With P series tires you are supposed to reduce the load carrying capacity by 20% when used on a truck or SUV.

You will have more blowouts when running under pressure than with the proper of higher pressure. Low tire pressure builds more heat and quicker than with the proper or higher pressures. This along with the heat degrading the tires leads to total tire failure. All the road gators are caused by low pressure.
