Engine lifts or low boy tranny jacks can be rented at tool yards, I can't understand why the paint was done first, then comes the risk of messing it up.

well, since i'm not taking the engine out i don't have to worry about the paint getting messed up. my truck is plenty high enough to where i can sit just about up straight underneath it. so, i'm not too worried about my paint lol.

If it's that high then it's going to be a pain to do without the right setup because most floor jacks won't go high enough to set the transmission even with the adapter.

do u guys know something about a sealer ring, i have to do the same thing and i was cheking out the parts at napa and they had a sealer ring and then the retainer 4 it do the both have to go in or what im doig front rear seals oil pan and valve covers same day !

We'll see when I get there haha. Still don't know which rear main seal is the best out of the materials in the link I posed above..

Viton (aka Fluoropolymer elastomer) is vastly superior to silicone and silicone is better than a plain rubber seal. So the Viton seal would be my first choice then the silicone as second.
