Rear brakes seized
Hi
ive got a 1995 f150 xl 4x4 6cyl 5 speed. Its been sitting at my buddys house for about 6 months as we were gonna get it in his garage to do some work. Anyway during the time it was sitting there ,someone did me the favour of applying the park brake. Went to move it yesterdayand it wont budge.
Any ideas on how to free up the rear brakes,im guessing the drums arent going to just slide off.

First may want to check that the cable returned. Sometimes it will seize up in its housing. Underneath the truck, about where the cab ends and the bed begins - should see a cable splitter - grab hold of each side of the rear cables and pull back (rearward) hard.
You may try to back up to see if that will free things up. If these actions don't get it - may try dialing the star adjuster wheel in as far as it will go. If that doesn't get it, hmm - may just have to cut the cable at the rear drum - but do this only as a last resort.

Soak any part of the cable that is not rubber covered. Reread Seans post, leaving the inner cable connected to the lever can cause severe damage down the road. Good luck.

well i had go at the rear brakes today,I decided i would jack up the rear end and drop the clutch.the cables are seized solid. I went to jack up the back and found the tires frozen to the ground!! %$^%$^ not happy, few buckets of hot water and they broke free.,bet this doesnt happen down south! Got the wheels spinning however the cables are still seized so new ones to be bought tomorrow. second problem front drivers side flex line tee blew and now im replacing all the front brake lines..... This good old truck only has 122000km on it but rust is killing it..
