Questions About New Project Truck
So I bought a 93 F150 yesterday with a 5.0 302. It's regular cab, and needs some body work, but that's the whole poing of a project! My question is mostly mechanical... When I started and drove it before I bought it, it smoked a very slight amount, but smelled like it was running rich. While driving it home, the PCV valve blew out, and began spraying oil, and heavy blue smoke started from the exhaust. I replaced the PCV and now it's idling rough and continues to smoke. I was wondering what my options are as far as what's wrong with it. I bought a compression tester today and plan to check it tomorrow... I'm thinking it's piston rings, but hoping it's something a little less extensive. Any ideas or avenues to check besides compression? I'll be posting pictures when I get them. Any help is greatly appreciated.

So here's the latest development.... Cylinder 4 (Passenger side closest to fire wall) is dead. 0 compression with and without oil. Now i'm thinking stuck valve, forcing oil into exhuast? Any ideas? All the other cylinder's compression was good, ranging 130 - 140.
