Default Question on a Mustang 5.0

Have a buddy with a foxbody that has a 96 Mountaineer motor in it when he bought it it had the edelbrok upper and lower intake PBM heads 1.6 roller rockers stock pushrods stock gt40 cam stock lifters. it had a slight tick/peck sound can hear it at idle but when you rev it goes away. so we pulled valve covers off and checked rockers and seen pushrods were ate up due to being stock push rods being used with guide plates since then we installed forged push rods ford racing lifters and f303 cam adjusted rockers to the PBM head specifications and still has the same tick/peck sound only hear it at idle goes away when you rev it up. pulled it back apart and none of the rockers are lose or pushrods worn nothing seems out of place. It seems its coming from the top end but a couple big ford guys has said sounded like a wrist pin but what weve looked up on the internet doesn't seem like it be the wrist pin. the car doesn't smoke burn any oil has tons of power. It will blow em off 1st half way threw 3 and get a good 4th.. I know its a f150 forum but figured id reach out to you guys see what you think on it
