last night i posted a thread asking opinions on my choice of cam. Well that cams not guna work so i have decided to ask "has anyone tried using a chip or programmer on something like my 1987 f150 5.0 EFI", and if so how do they work and witch one worked the best. Please feel free to be blunt.
or is there a computer compatible cam out there for cheep. Well to be honest like me! I dnt have a big buget. I am just trying to add a little kick to my truck.
Skip the chip.
Mail me $100. You'll get the same result.

"Mine is stiff b/c i went full retard..."
"...if you do it like I did it will be stiff."
If we haven t scared him off, theres a link to some compatable cams in his other thread.
If your down on cash, a carb swap might be a good tactic, as could a 5speed swap, not much more expensive than a converter and tranny rebuild. You probably got a crazy uncle with an old holley four barrel, and there are a ton of good intakes around the country for cheap.
My truck is efi no carbs here. I heard all the chips were crap, as well as spacers and CAI's. I just tought i would ask.... so i guess im saving up for my $500.00 cam.
500 bucks for a cam? look else where, that is a ridiculous price
