Default Post-Renovation Appraisal Value?

I'd like to protect my investment that I have in my truck and since it's an 88, by insurance standards its not worth much. However, my insurance agent said with an appraisal I can get more coverage for it.

I've got about $12k into the restoration so far. I figured it's worth about $7500 or so. What would you guys think is a reasonable value post renovation? Just trying to go into this appraisal with reasonable expectations so I know if his value is reasonable or not. (I know how subjective reasonable is, and how variable "classic" car values can be)

If you haven't seen what's been done, check it out here: www.f150forum.com/f10/starting-overhaul-rebuild-88-f150-farm-truck-278625/

your best bet is check in with a antique insurance company like hagerty or grundy and get AGV coverage on it

My agent talked about those places too, but won't any of those places require an appraisal as well?

Oh, AGV, I'm guessing that's agreed upon value.

I don't know what I did differently, but I just did an online quote for both providers, using 10k as the value. Hagerty was $650/year and Grundy was $170.

You can also try swinging by a Ford dealer and see what they have to say.

Thumbs up

Just my 2 cents but have used Grundy for my restored vehicles for 10 years and a buddy that had a claim with them and they were good on his claim. Only have my 63 Fairlane wagon left but use them.
