Default a plan for a '94 F150 daily driver

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and I had a few questions about some engine upgrades for a '94 F150 with a stock 5.0 engine. This truck will most likely serve as a daily driver so my upgrades won't be anything drastic. Here's what I had in mind:

- Summit cold air intake.
- 1.5" primary tube shorty headers.
- a good 2.25" true dual exhaust system.
- a set of underdrive pulleys?
- a new chip?

I was wanting to get some feedback about what works and what doesn't so that I get the best overall "bang for the buck".

Thanks,
Mark

I also have a '94 and was wondering the same things. Mine isn't a daily drive but could use some help. I think I'm going to build my own intake with some parts from Autozone and access to a CNC router and scrap aluminum. A guy built one on this forum. For the exhaust I have the same question about headers but was going to replace the y-pipe with a magnaflow y-pipe from summit with the cat and exit before the rear tire with no muffler. It would be hard to do true duals because I believe the front gas tank is in the way. If you do true duals use a H-pipe to equallize each side. No idea about underdrive pullys. I don't think they make a chip for the '94 but could be wrong.

autozone? 2.25" pipe? y-pipe? theres more things i dont understand, but ill stop there.

first off, you can get a nice intake K&N off ebay for $60 and you can tell a difference. and then about your exhaust, y-pipes arent bad, i guess, but yes.. it is possible to run true duals on these trucks... haha. not all that hard. underdrive pulleys, i love mine, but if your one of those guys that like to sit there at idle just to have the a/c, i wouldnt recommend them. and about they chip, its expensive and you dont gain ALL that much with these models, so i wouldnt make that a priority.

So it looks like the Cold air intake, the Exhaust and the underdrive pulleys are worthwhile...
Thanks all!
