Question the old check engine light

here is my problem .I sent my truck 1996 f150 5.0 4x4 to my machanic he said the truck was throwing so many codes he could't figure it out .he suggested that I send it to the dealer and let them sort it out. first they found a manifold leak fixed it but still fails ,next was the o2 sensors still fails next was tuneup and fuel filter change. the end result is they say I need a new computer which is what my machanic thought in the 1st place. so before I go and buy one which I have no problem with cause the truck is a one of a kind I would like to get your thoughts and knowlage on this matter. thanks for all your help

Is the truck running?

You need to get a list of codes so that the collective of mechanics here can help sort it out - I can't remember when they changed from OBD1 to OBD2... This thread will show you how to pull codes if it's OBD1:

If it's OBD2 (you won't have the same connector shown in the thread), any local auto parts store can retrieve codes for you for free.
