Default Odometer PEG Jammed!!!!!

I just went up in tire size and I want to get my odometer and speedo right on par of how it was with the stock tires. My reset peg works fine, but the other peg broke off and when i stick a pen cap to push it, it still doesnt function..... Whats would be the best fix?!?!?!?!?!?! Has this happened to anyone else????

Thank you!!!!

You can turn the odometer on the u pull it speedo to get it to the right mileage.

I'm just kind of confused which peg you mean. What year is your truck? Picture?

its a 1993...5 speed, 4.9, digital odometer display. No tach. The left peg is (reset) that on works. The right peg toggles between the odometer and the trip, this peg broke off and no matter what i do will not allow me to toggle between trip and odometer.

The digital odometer gets it's reading from the computer or whatever it is, point is the information isn't saved in the gauge cluster itself. Allow someone to correct me if I'm wrong, but other people have swapped entire clusters with no problems.

from my understanding you cant change the mileage of a cluster, ontop of that it is illegal to.

the only way you MIGHT be able to keep your mileage would be to swap PSOM,s (i believe thats right 1) other then that your best bet would be to fix the button.

That's correct the gauge is just a display. At least it is on newer models. I haven't seen many on older (obd1 ) vehicles but I'm pretty sure its the same. If your competent with electronics you can pull the cluster apart and try to repair the contact, however Its probably easier to replace it. As far as correcting the reading, I believe 93 is still gear driven so you need to order the correct plastic gear set for the cable. LMC , summit racing and national parts depot carry those gears.

'87-'91 has a mechanically driven mechanical odometer. '92-'96 has an electronic digital odometer which can be programmed for different sized tires.
