O2 Sensor spacer for better MPG
My latest experiment to see if I can increase MPG's is to add a spacer to the O2 sensor. Bought the spacer at Oreilly, it's actually called a Spark Plug Non-Fouler. Had to drill out the spacer for the O2 sensor to fit in.
Just put the spacer in today so I don't have MPG results yet. I have an 4 gas emission machine at my shop and after a 10 mile ECM reset the CO and HC readings dropped in half. The temp jumped about 1 letter higher and seems to have a bit more power. I am keeping an eye on it, I'm a little afraid of leaning it out too much and cooking the motor.
I'll update this as I run some more test miles.

Sean The Cat fooler is where I got the idea. Wasn't sure how it would work, make it run richer or leaner, but the 4 gas analyzer shows that it leaned it way out. Now I just need to make sure it's not too lean, don't want to cook a valve with my test. It'd be killer if I got 25 mpg .

Would this spacer gadget be the same thing that is used for a cat delete? Just curious to know what it was that's all. Goodluck with this experiment and keep us updated

lost my Car again...
i think you would just make the truck run too lean and loose some power but you could see some extra miles but not 25mpg it is a truck after all. get a 4 banger mount it in the bed and run the drive shaft to it and there you go 25mpgs sort of like a ford ranger.

Cats
Yes my 95 has only one and it's in front of the cat. I deleted my cat long ago, when it seemed to be clogged. Thinking about putting a new Y-pipe on it though and Catco's come with a cat and Bassani's are available in an off road only version.
