No tow hooks..
Hey everyone,
I finally got my hilift jack that I'm using as a winch and have my 4wd working. I noticed my truck doesn't come with tow hooks, its a 1996. I read a couple different threads but am nervous to add them because I don't want to weaken my bumper by cutting it and it sounds like mounting them to the accordion frame isnt very strong anyway. I'm wanting to do some more serious offroading but want something I can winch from on the front. Should I just spend the money and get an offroad bumper with towing shackles? What do you guys recommend?

Springer Spaniels Rule
You can buy a front mount reciever, bolts to the frame, and I think I saw a hitch with a winch mount, or someone makes a frame mount for a winch. And the bumpers are only held on with 1\4" bolts.

Dont know if warn still makes them but they should.

Mounts too your frame plus its made to handle the strains of a winch and the black 1 has the ability to have a receiver hitch wich could double as a pull point and you could get a receiver to mount your winch onto so you could move it from front to back assuming you have a receiver in the back.

Yeah I was looking at a buckstop bumper. They look pretty sturdy and they come with a winch mount, receiver hitch, and tow shackles. I'm just a little nervous about all the extra weight up front if I do go that route.
