After you check the rest of the things, look at the inspection covers on the side of the motor. They are notorious for leaking. There's minimal mounting to hold those in place.

If you want to bleed the steering system you're going to need a couple jack stands. Lift the front wheels off of the ground and put the jack stands under the front end. With the engine off, rotate the steering wheel from full lock to full lock slowly. Hold at full lock for about 5-10 seconds, then go the other way. Do this 20 times in each direction then let it sit for a couple minutes. Repeat the process another 5-10 times each way to make sure any bubbles got out. Make sure the fluid is full the entire time.

That's how I've bled or "verified" that there were no air bubbles in the system. While the tires are in the air is also a good time to check for bearing wear in your wheel hubs.

Thanks guys. I'll be checking for air in the steering this weekend as well as where I'm leaking oil.

Also getting some new tires. Right now there are 38 Super Swampers on it. I'm going down to 35s due to the wheels hitting on turns, not to mention it's a bitch getting in and out of. I'm slightly worried the 35s will look too small on the lift, but I guess we'll see.

Brake lines have been replaced just haven't had a second set of hands to help me bleed the new lines. That will go down tonight.

Starter has also been replaced.

Once the steering and oil issues have been corrected, I'm going to need a new wiper motor and power window motors for both doors.

All of these minor issues are adding up but when all is said and done I'll have a solid truck with all working parts/components for under $5K. Should last me a lifetime from here as I'm someone who definitely keep up on its maintenance!

Take a look. Let me know if you guys think dropping down to 35 inch tires will look funny/too small.

I am NOT a fan of the paint job, and If you look at the passenger side window, you can see how the dude I bought it off put a decal of flames UNDER the tint. Annoying and dangerous.

Sweet truck but LORD those flames are awful. Those belong on a crappy ricer.

your oil leak is most likely valve cover or oil pan gaskets

Have you washed the engine bay to see if you can pinpoint the leak?

Yes. Just cleaned everything up last night. I'll know more after driving it the next couple of days where the leak is coming from.

So here's where I'm at with the truck.
*Oil leak. You're right, it's coming from the pan. It's not too bad, so I'm just going to check it weekly and add oil as needed until I can get through the winter. That's going to be a pain in the ***.
*Steering play has been fixed. I think there was a bubble in the hydraulics that has since been worked out.
*Wipers fixed.
*New 35 inch mudders have been put on it. Love the look and feel.
*4wd. There was MAJOR clunking going on. It was the front dif. Fixing that now.
*Still need a passenger side window motor, but I'm not worrying about it until spring.
*Tint is ALMOST completely off. Here's what worked for me. Bucket of water and a sponge. Just kept wetting it while scraping. Worked like a charm and that stuff came off no problem.
