Default New fuel pumps brand suggestions

1995 F150 i6 extended cab 6" lift on 33x12.5 BFGs

Need to replace my rear fuel pump. Having a hard time starting it when rear tank is selected, no problem with front tank. I was going to replace both just to future proof it. What brand would y'all go with or what have y'all gone with? I don't want an eBay brand or something that will go out in a year or two. What have y'all used or heard is a good one to get? Thanks everyone!

Well if it were me, I would go to rockauto and just buy a complete tank/pump assembly and replace the whole she-bang. Plug and play. You could do both tanks and pumps for a little over the cost of a single motorcraft fuel pump.

If and when my fuel pumps ever give out, that's the way I'm gonna go. Seems to be a popular replacement, especially with those who have rusty tanks.

Never thought of that. That would be a good idea just replace both whole assemblies. Mine don't have rust on them but could be junk inside that has been there 20 years lol. How much would that run you think?

Stick to Bosch if possible and stay away from Airtex.

i go and cut a hole in the box so i can get to the fuel pump.
after that i cut a bigger chunk from a scrap box to make a cover plate. just another option lets you run a cheaper pump and change it out wherever i quits. ( not that id run a pump that dies all the time )

i like the idea of replacing both tanks and pump assembly for 400ish dollars but it looks like rockauto only has the 'spectra premium' brand on its website for my truck... is this good or bad? probably gonna do this soon.

On the Sams Garage radio show Saturday Morning, Sam Mahdavi suggested Delphi, Carter or Denso fuel pumps. I guess I'll try to get one of those brands if I ever have to replace a fuel pump. Just my 2 cents.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the Sams garage radio show with Sam Memmolo and Sam Mahdavi on Saturday mornings. They seem to both be seasoned and knowledgeable mechanics.
