Default Need new tires. XL or LT C load?

Shopping around for tires and I've done way too much reading on the subject. The door pillar sticker calls for P235/75/15 XL. It's a 1994 2wd that I'll mainly use to bee-bop around town on the weekends and occasionally use it to pick up some drywall, lumber, plywood etc if I have a project at the house. I have a small 4x8 trailer I might tow once or twice a year that doesn't carry more than 1k lbs. All short distance driving, nothing over 30 miles or so. 95% of the time it will have me and maybe 1 passenger and some bungee cords or a propane tank in the back. No off roading for me, that's what my Kubota is for. The LT's will be about $120 more total than the XL's. Thoughts?
Thanks

If you don't need the load carrying ability, I would not get LT tires as they tend to ride rougher. You may not even need the XL. On my Ford F-150 4X4s I just use a good quality all season car tire of that size you mentioned. Just my opinion of course.

Just make sure they're rated for the truck. Loading may not be important all the time but it would be nice to be able to if it ever comes up.
The big thing though is that if they're not rated for a truck, if there's an issue with any of the tires they won't honour the warranty.

This might be shocking, but after extensive research and review, here is what I'm going for next, with a similar setup and off-road/towing requirements: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Hankook-Dy...R15-6/17792183 I mount/balance myself at military auto hobby shop. I had the same tires on a prior owned Jeep Liberty and they were fantastic traction, little road noise, skimpy tread wear (sold with Jeep at 20,000 miles and going strong), and the price is fair!

To me, it always depends upon your roads (also load). For me its always the heavier tire. Heavier construction means the tire will take rocks, bumps, chuck holes, etc. with less chance of failure.

I'll throw out a recommendation for the Michelin LTX MS2's. An awesome tire that lasts like crazy. I got mine from Costco for $117 a piece. And Michelin was offering a $50 rebate so I was out the door just under $500.

I decided to stick with the factory recommendation of XL tires. I'll post them up here once mounted and I've put a few miles on them so I can give some honest feedback. Thanks for all the input. P. S. - my brother stopped in yesterday with his "new to him" 2014 F150 XTR 4x4. Super nice truck, they've come a looooong ways in 20 years, lol. But he can keep the payment...
