Question need help 89 f150 4x4 351w

Okay guys I'm new to the 4x4. Ive always been sports cars 04 gt lots of mods .. But the other day I traded for a 89 f150 351w c6 4x4, took it riding and got in a pretty deep mud hole, been through it 2 months ago in a factory jeep. Well it got worse and the water was about half way up the passenger side headlight after sitting there till help come( truck never died) got pulled out and it starTed running like crap. Barley made it out of the woods. It would run with a little throttle but if I floored it, it would try to die. Been sitting since yesterday and now it has a really high idle. Any ideas on what I messed up? The oil had no water in it the air box did get some water in it bc the air filter was froze this morning and has been replaced. Map sensor? Iac?

Suggest to pop the cap on the distributor and ensure all is dry inside...

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak. Probably was sucking in water when you were in the woods, now that it is out of there it's dry and just sucking a lot of extra air in.

I'm about to check for vaccume leaks and going to clean the iac. The original map sensor wasn't even plugged in they had one sitting on top of the motor so going to try the original one to see if it works.

The distributor had alot of water/ moisture in it. Pulled the dip stick on the transmission and boom milky so I've pulled the pan off and the bolt out of the torque converter and pulled the cooler lines. Any suggestions to getting the all the moisture/water out?
