Mystery Pipe/tube question

Just unbolt the crossover tube and plug the holes in the back of the heads(old spark plugs work for the holes). For the air pump either you need an air pump delete pulley for a 5.0 mustang or just remove the insides of your pump and leave the bearing.

Sweet! I can buy some regular plugs and put them in the holes too right?? And wouldn't I need a bypass pulley for a 5.0, or do I need one for a mustang??

They're marketed for mustangs. Only 'off road' vehicles can go without emissions, so the bypass pulley is fit drag cars. You can also go with a shorter belt and remove the smog pulley. I don't remember the length though. You can also take the cross-over pipe off and put a pipe cap where the solenoid threads on, then reinstall the pipe.

There is no need to delete the crossover tube. The air tube warms the cats at start up and provides o2 to help catylization. The crossover tubes are part of the egr. Defeating the egr will create more emissions and lowered mpg as well as illuminating the cel. Just cut the air tube. It will just pump air into the atmosphere. Or if you want to get creative you can connect it.to an air tank and have your own air compressor. For the cel pull the codes and you will know what is causing the problem.

The crossover pipe and the air tube are connected to the same hose off the smog pump. I traced all of it before I removed it. Also, egr delete doesn't always lower mpg. When I deleted mine due to a rusted-out pipe, my mileage stayed the same or slightly improved. And you're one of the only people on this forum who thinks the emissions are gonna jump enough for one truck to kill us all. And, the air pump don't put out enough pressure to be an effective compressor. Someone on here's tried it before.
