those front shocks look busted.... not to much travel in them at all, and does the shorter one have the install band on it? if not and they are not extended out all the way then they are defective.

I never fully extended them lol. I did the back 2 and by the time I went to do the front I was tired and said frig it lol. They go just as far as the backs.

certain types of shocks (hydro I believe) do not necessarily always extend out all the way when they're new like others do, those shocks look just fine

well just found out my rear axle is in fact a sterling 10.25. you can tell because the Dana 60 diff cover is 10 bolt and the sterling is 12. doesn't change anything, but it is good to know before i went and bought parts lol. wouldn't have been to happy spending 300 bucks for a gear set online to realize it doesn't fit.

10.25 is stronger.

check out ronsmachiningservice1 on ebay, 620 bucks for front and rear gear set with the master install sets for both of them. if you contact him he can put together what ever ratio you want.
ALSO!!!!!!!!! find out if you have a newer 10.25 or an older one, the lowest gear set you can get with the older axle is 4.56, the newer axle 1992+ you can go way lower. you can convert the older axle by getting a newer output yoke. they are pricey though.

then check out ruffstuff if you want some serious diff covers, they also have disk brake brakets for the 10.25 for 50 bucks, you supply the calipers and rotors.

thanks for the links. do you know what calipers and rotors would be compatible, or just buy the same as the front? or if its anything like my dads 9" disk brake brackets they should come with a list.

they tell you on the site, i know its calipers from the front axle off an 80's chevy, and the rotors are off a ford van. most all brackets you find online will use the chevy calipers.
you can also use calipers off a cadillac too if you want the park brake, but i've heard parts for these can only be sourced from salvage yards, and they are rare to find.
