Have you checked all of your vaccuum lines?

Check the grounds for proper connection/corrosion free.

Check the fuel lines/filter for anything clogging them.

Not sure where you live, but around me the field mice/rats are looking for somewhere warmer to stay. That means vehicles, garages, etc. Might check to see if anything has been chewed up.

As a prevention you could clean all of the sensors for your intake and the TB. Could have a film from sitting if it's been very humid then dusty where you live.

Clean the IAC and the valves on the throttle body, also (like was said) use some QD electronic clean and get the connectors for everything on the TB. Loose battery cables shouldn't cause surging but you don't want to be able to remove them without loosening them or a bump might do this for you and engine dies. If cleaning doesn't fix the problem test the TPS for proper voltage.
