Default My first Ford - 95 F150

Bought my first truck yesterday. 1995 F150 5.8 4x4. I have a couple questions, as it's a 15 year old used truck.

First, the temperature gauge is on the fritz. Sometimes it will read 100% hot, sometimes it reads slightly colder than it should considering I live in ~100 degree Arizona. The truck has a new thermostat, coolant levels are fine, and it doesn't seem to run hot at all.

Second, What is the proper name for the part inside the driver's door that the handle attaches to? I have a handle, and the cable, but the part that the handle and the cable attaches to - the part that actuates the door (pulls on the cable), is missing.

I've been searching for a replacement, but either cant find it, or can't figure out exactly what it's called. What other vehicles use this same door opening system? I might be able to hit a junkyard later today.

Thanks!

Good choice. Temp might be the wire to the sender is corroded or sender bad, as far as the handle, go to LMC truck they have a good reference and name of parts. They have a section for 80-96 F150 trucks, as far as the years, any truck I think 87-96 with a push button system.

What is the location/color of the wire I should be checking?
