Ok short story, kind of. In February of 2009 my father gave me an 89 Bronco XLT, it would eventually end up being my daily driver when I got my license in march of 2011. Over the coarse of those 2 years I had build it pretty well. Here's a spec list of it.

That sucks man! Are you going to try and rebuild it? Did it destroy you winch? Howd that happen?

After the accident I was dead set on rebuilding, I got the rest of the front clip, which I had most panels but had to get my hands on a radiator support, grill and head lights. But, after 5 months of the bronco sitting it had gotten water in the fuel and also into the cylinders. Quite simply, it wouldn't run. After going under the truck to look for a pinched fuel line (at first I thought that's what it was) I found that the frame was twisted and the numerous spots of the body were cracked from the force of hitting the tree. So it was time to find something else.

I talked to my step mothers, brother in law about doing some work on his ranger and in return he would give me a truck. The ranger needed a water pump, brake lines and a tranny filter. That was $140 out of my pocket plus my time and I had myself a free truck.

It was a 4.9 with an m5od 2wd when I got it.

I ended up scrapping it. And the winch plate was destroyed but the winch looks to be in workable condition. It happened because I was driving to fast in the rain and when I went around a corner I cut the turn to close and the tires didn't keep up with the steering, I found myself sliding straight forward.

The first thing to address was the cancer on the front wheel wells. So I did a full nose swap using the parts for the bronco.

Got the rad support on


Then a fender and a headlight


Then the other fender, headlight, grill and lower trim


After driving around the yard for a day I decided to put the hood on.

Then it was time for the important stuff.

The aussie locked d44 ttb out of the bronco with the 4inch lift springs and tough country brackets. Also the other 2 33's (I had 2 on the truck for s&g's), new rear spring mounts and the 3/4 ton steering


Got lazy.

The next step is finish the steering set up I have on it now so both links are sleeved. I'm just posting stuff that I finished already.

Heres the truck with the 6" springs and the shackle flip which is about 3.5 inchs of lift on the 33's



And now the 4" springs with that same shackle flip.

Top is stock obviously and the bottom is a 1.5"-2" lowering shackle (lol 2wd rear springs)

I ended up back with 6 inch springs after some frame repair and the new rear axle.

After dealing with the front axle and lift I finally got my hands on a 4x4 m5od and got a free bw1356 with it. Only paid $170 for it. While putting it in I found that there is a 4x4 specific crossmember for the tranny. So I reused the 4x2 crossmember and made provisions in the floor so I could get some extra ground clearance. But had to shorten the t-case shifter and bend the tranny shifter to make everything not hit the dash.
