Hey guys... i just got new pipes for my 90 5.0

got new pipes, cat, and a glass pack.

its not as loud as i expected and the mechanic said it would get louder once the cat breaks in. Can anyone confirm this?

Also how long until the burning smell goes away?

Its safe to say that exhaust never gets any quieter over time!!! But yes, slowly the "glass" in the glass pack will break down and the exhaust tone will deepen.

You coulda burnt all the glass out o the muffler before you had it put on. That smell should go away in a few days
