Max Cargo/Towing Capacity Question
I own a 1989 F150 with I6 engine, 5 spd manual, red cab, long bed, 2wd. I've been trying to figure out the max cargo/towing capacity for my truck. I'm moving from Astoria, OR to Alameda, CA. As of right now I have over 1500 LBS of cargo loaded on the bed. I plan on towing my motorcycle by renting a 9' long Uhaul trailer. I don't know how how much that trailer weighs. However my motorcycle weighs over 600 LBS. I don't know if I'd be over loading my truck. I hate to encounter any major casualties due to overloading without realizing it. Do anybody know the max tow/load capacity for that specific model? Any help would be appreciated.

You should be more than fine. I would say you should be able to tow about 2000lbs. You could check the plate in your drivers door, it should have it on there.

I've got 96 specs, but depending on your gear ratio you can do a combined load of (3:08) 2100 lbs,(3;31) 2800 lbs,(3;55) 3500 lbs and 4:10 gives you a whole lot.
Can the truck handle the load you're suggesting ? Definitely. Will you be legal ? That's where you have to do the math.
Don't forget that the legal load limit includes your gas, you, your passengers, your hitch, plus luggage in the cab and whatever's in the bed plus the trailer and bike.

19 gallon tank times 6lbs (weight of gas) =114
So, 114lbs of gas+1500lbs of cargo+1240lbs(trailer weight)+600lb bike +estimated 350lbs (assuming 2 people at 175lbs)+an extra 200lbs for extra items=
4004 lbs. Highly over weighted.
114+1500(cargo)+350(people)+200(extra)=
2164 which is about your capacity with 3.08 gears which I am assuming is what you are running
Have someone else drive and just ride the bike lol!
or if you had another person just get someone to drive a uhaul van or pickup truck and pay for it.
Anyways. Do not, please do not hook up that 1240lb trailer and 600lb bike to your truck with 1500lb cargo
