Default Cool Air Intake ?

gotta '94 4.9L I6, i was wondering if anyone was running k&n cool air intake under the hood and how well you like it. they want 250$ for it and it only increases horsepower by 5. also was wondering if the sound changed alot or just a little bit

These trucks already have a cold air box setup. I wouldn't bother changing it. The inlet tube comes from the grill, and there is no hot air inlet so a k&n under hood open cone setup would be worse if anything, letting in hotter air than stock. Save the 250 bucks. A better upgrade would be switching to an electric fan. It wouldn't do a whole lot, but it would be a better upgrade than the intake.

Just buy the K&N filter to fit the stock box.
