Maf Sensor Question
Well I had the shaking problems with my truck and bad power loss and poor fuel economy. Me and my buddy pulled off what we think was the connection to the Idle Air Control Valve and it ran great! Gained power back and everything, but it maybe shook like once that was it. Plugged it back on and shook and hesitated and everything. I'm thinking its that, but my question is, since my brother put in cold intakes on my truck, would I have a Maf sensor if its supposed to be on the corner of the airbox? Or where do you find the Maf sensor. I have the 93 f150 with the 5.0

Do an error code scan. I usual behavior after unplugging the IAC is for the idle to stumble, not correct itself. Maybe you disconnected to TPS. Sounds like the MAP might actually be your problem, but I would do the scans before spending any money on any parts. If you want to spend some money, buy a repair manual for your truck & a Code Reader, $40. for both so you can scan yourself & Identify parts & their locations.http://www.handsontools.com/Equus-In...ol_p_5574.html And here's the manual method http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=13 Here's some sensor & actuator info regarding troubleshooting http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=23

Oh okay I'm having second thoughts it that was the IAC now or not. Can you tell me what I unplugged then, right in the center of this picture, its on the left front side of the engine block:

Thats your EGR (exhaust gas recirculator) I find it odd that it would smooth out after unplugging it. Do what ymeski said and pull any codes off the computer and see whats going on. You can get a cheap code reader at any parts store for bout 20-30 bucks.

Well I think im gonna go and pick up a new sensor today and put it on. My question is, is a lot of times when my vehicle bucks or shakes or whatever, my battery light flashes? How would the evp sensor have anything to do with that? Or what would cause that to do that.
