How can i tell if i have 5 on 5.5 or 5 on 4.5

If you're asking about a pre-97 F150 it's 5x5.5 a Ranger/Explorer has 5x4.5

Measure from centre of one hole to the centre of the hole dirctly across..

If you're lookin into new wheels, 5x139.7 also fits.. Some wheel companies don't list imperial sizes much.

1960-1996 F100\150 basically all use a 5 on 5 1\2 bolt pattern. 5 on 4 1\2 are a car and ranger pattern.

I've heard bead lock is rough on the road sometimes, do much off roading?

What I mean is that the bead lock puts more weight on one side of the rim. Making it a balancing nightmare, basically. You might end up eating through tires, unless it's almost primarily an off-road rig.

The m/t 2 ain't a real bead lock. Just look it. So no worried about road use
