I have a 1996 F150 5.0. It has heads on it from a 99-01 Explorer. I have a damages lower intake. What lower intakes will fit on my truck. did they change anything in 96 with the intake itself? What is involved in changing the intake?

Well to take the lower intake off I will give you some advice. Start at the top and work your way down taking cell phone pics as you take each component off so you know how it goes back together. Other then that it takes some time to get to the lower intake.

How do you know the lower intake is damaged?

The lower thermostat bolt broke off flush. I got it apart and drilled and tapped today. Tomorrow its putting it back together time.
