Default Loose hub

I have a 1993 F150 with 5 speed manual and 4.9l inline 6. I noticed that the hub on the pass. side moves around even though all the machine screws holding the face of the hub on are tight. I took the face off and the o ring is still there and looks ok but when I put the face back on and torqued the machine screws, the face still moves in and out about 1/8 inch or a little less. The hub seems to work as does the 4 wheel drive but Why is this hub face so loose? Thanks in advance for any info!

The chrome locking face screws in to the hub locking mechanism inside the (steel) hub. There may be an issue in there. The chrome face should be tight.

Mine are tight on my 91. Maybe someone replaced the screws with ones that are too long and they are bottoming out ?
