Anybody have a lifted 2wd 95? I want to lift mine but I was told that I would have alignment issues

There are 3 different ways to lift an i beam truck. You can go up to about 2" with coils or spacers and use aftermarket eccentrics to align it. You can go up to about 6-8" with bent beams (the only way to go imo, if its 4wd you do a cut and turn vs bend) or you can do drop down brackets. These all correct camber from the lift.

I have a lifted 2wd it's a 96!








It's sittin on 37s. The only thing I did was put lifted 79 f250 coil springs under it and a rough country 4" with a 3" body. I didn't have to mess with the camber or anything they just went straight. But if you do drop brackets from rough country keep the beams in the top hole.

I probably sound stupid but can somebody please explain to me what camber is?? I've seen in mentioned a lot on here lately

The camber is what makes your tires lean in or out at the tops and bottoms

Camber is the angle of the wheel/tire in relation to the road. Normally you can adjust the top of the tire in or out to get correct camber. These old 2wd I-beam trucks are low on the front to begin with so a little suspension lift along with a short body lift would be ideal. If it needs a camber adjustment it gets kinda complex unless you install adjustable camber bushings. Anything taller than that would need a few more front end parts/adjustments.

Ok so it's basically your alignment. With that I mind is it normal for my tires to angle when the wheels are turned?? I see a lot of other trucks that do it when the wheels are at full lock. I just never noticed mine til the other day when I parked with my wheels turned

iv honestly never heard that its "harder to align 2wd trucks" i leveled mine and had it aligned no problem, i was guna put a 6" on it and the shops said they would have no problem aligning it. im putting a 2.5" on here whenever i get to it and its guna be no prob aligning it.

What year is yours?? And when my wheels are straight the alignment is perfect | | how exactly DO you align your own vehicle??

my 96, iv never aligned mine myself. iv taken it to shops who straight up told me that they have dome them before and theirs nothing special you need. i needed new parts when i got mine leveled to realign it, only cost like 40 bucks for parts and 35 bucks in labor. iv spent the last year almost 2 years figuring out what i want, need and which lift i wanted to do on my truck, and non of the shops i went to never mentioned any special tools, parts, kits or just labor intensive things they needed to do on any of the setups i looked into, leveling-6" lift.
