I am looking to level my 4x4 by two inches, just enough to bring the front level with the rear. Does anybody have an opinion on different leveling kits? The "replace the springs with bigger ones" type, or the "put in a spacer" type. Just looking for feedback. Also, any other comments/suggestions would be appreciated.

i just leveled mine and it turned out better then i thought it would! what i did was bought 94 f250 2wd coils. but any 80-96 should work. just look for some at the wreckers with lower kms on them so there not sagged. but any f250 2wd coil will work. i got 2 3/4 lift in the front and my tires leaned before and now they sit perfectly strait! easy to install and way cheaper then spacers! by the way my truck is a 95 f150 4x4 excab sht box 5.8 e40d. hope this helps!

o and i should ad that i like the ride better with these 250 coils! its firmer and doesnt have the body roll around corners that it did before. definitly my favorite mod i have done so far!!!

Did you have to re-align your front end? And did it make the rear end look lower?

I just installed rough country springs (2" leveling kit)...not the cheapest but doesn't break the bank either. I got mine for about $125. With the right tools it only took me an hour and a half to include test drive and clean up. It easy...and well worth it.

The rough country are a progressive spring and are slightly firmer the stockers. The ride is firm but not harsh. My wheels were leaning outward as well (typical from the stock springs sagging) but now the seem more straight. I will still need an alignment but I will wait until they settle some.

I feel spacers are only good if you have a good pair of springs already installed. If your springs are old...I would replace them.

Some guys buy Moog...or go to a junk yard...or do what I did.

If you have the money, leveling coils or F-250 coils would be better and cleaner but spacers are cheap. Im personally just going to use spacers though since i can get them for $30 at Canadian tire.

You can get a pair of f250 springs at a junk yard for pretty cheap personally I got a brand new pair off eBay for $103 including shipping

Yeah type in F250 coil springs and mine came up as 1980-1996 F250 front coil springs from "Northern Autoparts"

no i didnt and when i put new tires on the guy said my frontend was within spec. and the front tires are wearing even. no the back is about half an inch higher. but it looks level. you can only tell with a tape measure.
