Leaky oil sending unit

Leaky oil sending unit
I have a 1995 5.0 F150. It has an oil leak that I thought was the oil pan gasket. A friend and I were talking about it and I showed him where I thought it was leaking. He noticed it was leaking above the line where the oil pan connects to the block. I started looking harder and noticed that the oil sending unit was what seemed to be leaking. It is between the power steering pump and the oil filter. Anyone have any experience with this? I have never changed one before but it looks simple just kind of a cramped space to work in.

Very easy to change. Remove the oil filter and get up in there and remove it. Some models need a special socket, some don't. You may be able to get it off with a pair of vice grips.

Agreed, it is a very easy change. Get a 27mm 6 point socket and it'll take about 5 minutes to swap out. Just did mine on my 94 and my 95. Same socket fit both. I just found a dual sending unit port for around $6 that I am going to install and put my mechanical gauge in so I can monitor the actual psi while maintaining the factory gauge and idiot light. Kind of looking forward to trying out this new setup. If it works out on my 95 I'll be installing it on my 94 as well. Easy stuff once you get the right tools and figure out where everything is.

I have a 95 and my oil pressure guage (stock) is faulty. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it is pinned all the way to the right...
I want to try to just replace the sending unit but I am interested in the dual guage.
Any pictures of the installed part? Where did you find it and how much?
Thank you for letting me be nosey.

So how would I TEE off or just install a mechanical one?
