I need to change some burnt out bulbs, i have everything removed but there is a small bolt that i cannot reach that mounts the gear shift cable inside the column... i cannot remove the cluster without unhooking that cable and unscrewing that little brace that mounts it to the column inside... any ideas on a tool i can use? it looks like its about 4.5mm... 1/4 socket wont even fit cause the head is too big and i don't have a long enough wrench that is that small LOL... thanks in advance!

I would just drop the steering column, much easier to get to it then. Be careful you don't break the cable when you're lowering it.

One thing I read somewhere that I will mention just in case: gages in some panels will apparently leak lubricant if tipped. I was cautioned to have a box with a vertical slot or something to old the panel nearly vertical after removal.

Sorry if that's bogus info. Please let us know how it goes - I have a light that is intermittent and should do the same thing some day. For now, the light works more often that not, but that will no doubt change.

Remove the column cover to gain access to the PRNDL cable, disconnect it and take out your panel. Use neutral for adjustment of the indicator. Check for proper adjustment. The cable has a loop at its end, lift it off the barb.
