Inertia Switch Location
I have a 1995 F-150 XLT 5.0 and the fuel pump died driving down the highway earlier today. After I got the truck TOWED home and didn't hear the fuel pump start up with the key over, I retrieved code 542. According to my Actron code scanner manual, code 542 is (Fuel pump circuit open connection - Electronic Control Assembly/ECA to motor ground). I've come to the conclusion that the fuel pump has gone bad, just like the fuel pump for my other tank. I've gone through every bit of troubleshooting and I've yet to narrow down one thing. Where is the fuel pump inertia switch??? I don't have the owners manual and the ford fleet website only has manuals for 1996 and up. I checked the location of the 1996 F-150 inertia switch and no luck. Please if anyone could post a pic or tell me the location for a 1995 f150 inertia switch, I would be grateful. Mine may be gone, I just want to be sure.

On the 87-91 model it is on the drivers side under the dash near the parking brake. I had to cut the wires leading to mine and twist them together one time when I was in the middle of nowhere and I thought my fuel pump went out. I decided to try that as a just in case thing and it worked.

I found it behind the kick panel. Thank you for your replies. I wouldn't have found it on my own. The button was pressed in, so looks like I'm still looking at a dead fuel pump. The rear pump has 300k miles on it, so I wouldn't be surprised. I'll know for sure after I get a ride tomorrow and buy a new wire tester. I'm also gonna drop the tank and look the FP connections.
