I have a 87 f150 with a 302. My motor was surging at idle, I pulled the IAC sprayed the inside thoroughly with carb and choke cleaner, let it dry...put it back on and now the surge is gone.

I just had a shop put in a used 5.0 in an '88 F150. It's running OK, but rough and stalls when cold. They guy at the shop said the Idle Air Control motor was probably weak. I assume he means the Idle Air Control valve, or one of many other similar names for it. Can someone take a picture or describe what I'm looking for on an '88 5.0? I'd like to take it off and try to clean it first. I know it's somewhere on the throttle body, but don't know exactly what this should look like for my model.

Thanks!

Thanks, when it isn't pouring down snow, sleet, and all things wet outside and I have daylight, I'll look under the hood again and see if I can find it.
