Default idle air control valve problem??????

I have a idle air control problem! 88 f150 4x4 5.0 5-speed.. unplugged it ran the same. checked volts and got 11.8 supposed to be approx. 10.5. the valve read good w/ 9 ohms

I'd just replace it chances are the plunger inside is stuck or you can try cleaning with some brake parts cleaner, just make sure not to soak the electrical parts of it.

replace it.they aren't that expensive.

then try cleaning it first with some carb cleaner or brake cleaner the valve might just be stuck as *cfl3794* said

if you bought an aftermarket one the have a 1 or 2 year warranty. If it doesn't work right take it back

I went to the junkyard an got a f250 5.8 throttle body, and the idle air for $20 cleaned them both up with throttlebody cleaner, runs and idles mint.

not really, the only thing I had to do is make a couple vacuum caps for the 2 nipples the 8th gen f250 throttle body had different than my 9th gen f150. Other than that cleaned em both up with throttle body cleaner and bolted em on, and runs great and smoothed my idle out.
