Default I did it this time

So Fargo is in the middle of a snow storm and I had to drive 6 miles home. We've got 6-7 in of snow on the ground and up to 14 in drifts. On my way back I couldn't help but hit several drifts...either that or the other car. On one of them I noticed my truck started sputtering pretty bad, like it was missing. I've had this issue before when the truck got wet (like going through a puddle.) I'm assuming that is most likely attributed to water getting under the dist cap because it has lost it's seal...been meaning to get around to that. Well I continued driving, hoping it would dry itself out and be back to normal like it usually does when this issue happens. About 100 yards down the road I hear a huge clunk/bang under the hood and my truck dies out and stalls, cel came on. It is now completely dead. The truck will crank, but it won't turn over. I am going to let it sit over night and look at it in the morning and check if I have any spark and start there. I'm kind of puzzled about the loud bang. I know I don't have too much information, and no codes, but does anybody have an idea of where to start or maybe brainstorm what could have caused this? I know you need more info...but you guys have pulled good stuff outta your a**'s before. Thanks.

My truck did the same thing, just a random bang and stalled but it started right up afterwards while still rolling. My pickup sensor in the distributor was going bad causing a random misfire and stall.

Still pull the codes and check over everything under the hood.

Edit* Dang didn't mean to write a book.

I had my truck do the exact same thing minus the clunk/bang noise. After i went through a big puddle of water last week about 100 feet down the road it just died. Would not crank but would turn over. Got to looking and i blew number 9 fuse under the hood. Which is the powertrain control module. Replaced and i got another 100 ft down the road. Blew again this time i had to let it sit awhile cause i had no more fuses. ( the big fuses) after i got some put one in and made it home and have not blown a fuse yet. Something to do with the water i went through.

So check your fuses.

Could be just wet plug wires.

I was also thinking that, but would that explain the loud bang?

That could just have been a back fire when it shut down.

Well I got it started twice, but as soon as I give it a little gas it bogs down and stalls out. Now I can't start it at all, it just backfires when I crank it. I'm still working on pulling codes.

Pull the cap clean it and spray it with wd-40 and hit it with compressed air. Try to seprate the plug wires the best you can and shake them in the process. We will know more when you pull codes.

Alright I pulled codes. KOEO showed 522...trans was in neutral. Continuous codes showed 172, 332, and 556. 172: O2 sensor, 332: EGR did not open, and 556: fuel pump relay primary circuit fault.

So from those, can anybody point me in the right direction? I am planing on replacing my O2 sensor today and clean the EGR. Anybody know how to approach the 556? My front tank (the only tank I use) primes when I put the key into the on position.
