How to remove aluminum piece from tailgate?
So I'm tryin to swap out the aluminum tailgate piece that comes on XLT models from my old truck to my new truck. Problem is I can't quite figure out how to get it off. I took the plastic bedliner off to look from the other side but that about as far as i got.

When I see them missing there are holes in the tailgate, so I would assume you would have to remove the plate on the tailgate inside and there will be bolts in there for it.

I would pull the plate and check for more screws. If there aren't any then it's probably just 2 sided tape. Mine doesn't have the aluminum piece so I don't know for sure.

In addition to the four nuts (2 at each end) that you remove, there are six torx head screws you remove from the inside of the tailgate. This will allow the entire tailgate trim to be removed.
