Default How many mpg does a 1990 5.8 efi 351 Windsor usually get

I put $33 of gas in a couple days ago and i only drove 80 miles and it ran dry and i was stuck on the side of the road...I calculated that and i get 6 mpg not including the gas i had in the tank which i say was probably about a gallon. lol i thought the gas guage worked. how do you fix the gas guage?

Eh, for what it's worth - I figure about 10mpg around town for a reasonable ballpark estimate. Maybe 12mpg on the highway. But then, I didn't buy it for its mileage. :-)

I have a 1996 F150, 4x4 automatic with the 351W, with 152k miles on her, and I have recently gotten almost 19mpg on the highway, no load, and almost 17mpg hauling my atv. Around town I get about 13mpg.
