Well, I might be getting ready to sing the praises of Seafoam after doing a treatment to my truck. It might be nothing more than a placebo effect but it sure seems to accelerate faster and seems to have more power. Of course, the butt dyno is not calibrated so I really don't know jack about measurable changes.
I'll see if the mpg gets better, that would be worth the price of admission.. I was wondering something though. If one bottle of seafoam is good, will 2 bottles be better? I was thinking to do a treatment through the throttle body as a fuel injector/throttle body cleaner. Would this be a good idea? Also, has anyone else do this and if so, can you give some specific directions or advise?
BTW, I did the 1/3 through the brake booster, 1/3 in the oil and 1/3 in the gas tank. I will soon change the oil and filter. I found Mobil 1 at Walmart for $23 for a 5 qt bottle. They had the Motorcraft filter as well so I'm all set to do the oil change.

Wait wouldn't going thru the gas be the only way to clean the injectors? Oh and you should use synthetic oil now that you got all the sludge out from conventional oil.

I did the whole can through the brake booster line, with the engine warmed up. Glad I didn't blow my engine up. I was trying to drown the engine to stall it but it kept compensating and no smoke came out. Finally at the end of the can I ran and shut it off. Needless to say it smoked for a long while. I kept shutting it off for more cleaning every 15 seconds of severe neighborhood smoking out. I definitely noticed the better idle.

I could not stall my engine either. I stopped pouring at about 1/3 and shut the engine. Then I did the 1/3 in the oil and 1/3 in the gas tank. I waited about 25 minutes and started it. It produced a good bit of smoke so I drove it out of the neighborhood and to some fairly deserted industrial roads. It eventually stopped smoking and now I'm looking to see what measurable improvements I got.

I definitely have the 10W30 Mobil1 oil. They had some Walmart brand synthetic oil for less money as well as Rotella full synth and a synthetic blend. However, none of the alternatives had 10W30 except the Rotella synthetic blend. I decided what the hell, for $5 more I'll go with the tried and true. If it's good enough for the Corvette and for the turbocharged Lancer EVO VIII, it's good enough for my old truck

Huh, I kinda use the same philosophy, except I say "If it's good enough for race cars, it's good enough for my truck". I use 10w-30 Royal Purple with 1qt of Lucas Oil Stabilizer.

I put a 1 entire can in the gas tank and plan on using 1/2 can in booster hose and 1/2 can in oil. Gas mileage and performance increased.

I don't know if that is a "diesel oil". I've seen Rotella oil in various different weights and several different types...
