how do i convert to manual locking hubs on a 94 xlt
hello i bought a 94 f150 xlt with autolocking hubs and am having 4wd problems, heres a quote from my other thread that got no reply's
now if there is no cheap easy solution to fixing that how much trouble, time and money would it cost me to convert to manual hubs? any good step by step walk through's out there?
hello just bought a 94 f150 xlt with 5.0l automatic w/ overdrive and all of the sudden while driving it'll start making a weird clicking noise then as i apply the brakes and slow down the noise will get faster and more intense and turn into more of a clicking/clunking sound that finaly stops right before i come to a complete stop with 2 loud rough clunks its like the 4wd isnt fully disengaging.

just replaced my 3 screw auto hubs, with warns. took 2 hrs first side, 45 minutes other side. recommend you replace wheel bearings at the same time. 95 f150 4x4 xlt 5.8 warn instructions walk you thur it. i am a carpenter by trade. website for WARN. http://www.trsfabandoffroad.com/prod...dana_axles.htm bearings $60.00 premiun hubs $70.00 pr. spindle nut kit $55.00 you may not need spindle nut kit. advance auto parts.

i was thinking of going with
these http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...W43b3f85c7ab9e
hubs
and this conversion kit http://www.eautoworks.com/product-Mi...RIES_TRUCK.htm
would i still need anything else with that?
also would i still have to have the silinoid and actuaters checked out or do those only matter with auto hubs?

also just checked and i have the 5 bolt auto hubs so i wont need the spindle nut kit right?
is the conversion kit and the spindle nut kit the same thing or do i still need the conversion kit?
do i need any special tools?

conversion/ spindle nut kit... same thing. according to milemarker you need the conversion kit. i was going to buy milemarkers, also. but the 4wheeler guru here in central fla. convinced me the few extra dollars for the warn hubs, would be worth it, in the long run.

http://www.supermotors.net/registry/media/72045 file 9,10,11, & 12 of 97. located in the gallery. this is a complete diagram of your 5 screw hubs. should be all you need for disassembling your hubs.

Manual locking hubs don't need the actuators or solenoids. You need Manuel or Jose to engage them. Was wondering why you are not pursueing the repair of the present system, others have had concerns with the solenoids getting wet and corrosion stuff.

ahh thanks. the reason i'd rather switch than repair is that i've talked to many friends that know more than i do about this sort of thing and they all said the same thing "push button and auto locking hubs are the worst thing that ever happend to 4wd systems" they say even if i fix it now it'll fail again when either i dont have the cash to fix it or when im stuck and need it
