sea foam
go the parts house and get a can of sea foam it's about 10 bucks a can
fire your truck up and let it warm up pull your vacum hose off your brake booster and stick it into the can let it suck about a half of a can and the cut your truck off and let it sit for about a min make sure you put your hose back on then fire it up and give it some gas IT WILL SMOKE VERY BAD FOR A MIN but will stop

Sea Foam is awesome and definitely a good cleaner, but it might not clean the EGR system b/c it will be closed when the truck is at idle.
To clean the EGR you:
1) Disconnect and remove EVP
2) Unbolt and remove EGR. There are two bolts that hold it to the intake manifold and a threaded screw around the tube that connects it to the exhaust. Start applying penetrating oil the day before you do the work if possible.
3) Scrape gasket surfaces. Buy new gaskets, you'll see how terrible the factory ones are. They're cheap.
4) Clean out the carbon. Doesn't have to be surgically clean. Just clean enough to move the mechanism around.
5) Make sure the EGR can hold a vacuum. If you apply a vacuum and it leaks/the needle moves after a few seconds, it needs to be replaced.
6) Reassemble.
Good luck
