Default How can you tell if your frame is bent

I was looking at my truck today and noticed that my bed box is close to .4 inch on one side and about an inch on the other, it is so close on the one side that i can not even fit my hand between the bed and the box, so i was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to tell if my frame is bent, or is there another reason this is happening

It's pretty easy actually. Pick two spots on each frame rail - directly across from each other, say up near where the cab and bed come together. Now pick two spots back near the bumper, directly across from each other (opposite frame rails).

Measure from the front spot on the drivers side to the rear spot on the passenger side - so diagonal. Do it again from the front spot on the passenger side to the rear on the drivers side. If the numbers are different, your frame is bent. That's how body shops do it. If your frame isn't bent you might just need to align the bed.

Good chance its the bed that needs to be aligned.

I was wondering the same, as I did a little flex going from my driveway, to the neighbors, and my Fan hit the shroud. Didn't think this was normal, but idk as I dont flex it often.

Just flexing won't bend the frame. It is designed to 'give' a certain amount. Forcing it past that point is where you get into trouble.

never knew you could align the bed, I was under the assumption that it was held down from four bolts drilled straight into the frame, that you could not adjust

THere are 6 bolts and the holes in the bed are oversize so if you back out the bolts .about1/2 inch you should be able to just lift and push it where you want it. hint A couple of buddeys and a 6 pak would help
