Its a diaphragm, to prevent fluid from leaking out and air in. When you push in the clutch it takes up the space of the fluid being pushed through to maintain proper vacuum and hydraulic pressure.

I told you, you don't bleed it like brakes. Stop opening the bleeder. Every time you do you have to start all over again. Just pump the pedal as fast as you can. It takes a long time sometimes, but it will eventually come back.

Default more info that helped me

I had to disconnect the hyd. line from the slave cylinder and insert a screw driver in the end of the line to allow the fluid to flow thru. I had someone pouring fluid in the res. to make sure it would not empty. There was alot of black gunky fluid that flushed out. I reconnected the Hyd. line to slave and loosened the bleeder and fluid flushed thru. Again someone was on top filling the reservoir making sure no air got back in. I ran about 2 reservoirs worth of fluid thru then closed the bleeder. I Pumped the clutch pedal ten times letting the pedal snap back up. I am no mechanic but this worked for me.

my bleeder screw or fitting like a grease fitting is broke so i cant bleed seems like it might still have a little pedal can i gravity do it by loosening the line at the tranny and pumping it or pump it? i gather i can only bleed it that way to the transmission but pump it til i drop

If you're bleeder is broken it wont make it much harder. At this point just be sure your fluid is topped up and pump hard and fast and it will come back. The only time you should open the bleeder is to get excessive amounts of air pushed out then close it, after that its just pumping.

This one has an internal slave? Have you ever seen the clutch peddle work normally?
