Default How to add horsepower to my 1993 F-150

I have a 1993 F-150 V8 302 5.0 liter, I was wondering what the best way to add horsepower would be? I also was wondering if the Jet performance chip is worth it for my old truck? thanks

hmm i hate computer crap but it can help you i guess tuning your engine by the modual now what kind of money your willing to spend and how much horse power

headers 10 to 20hp
cam 50hp roller setup
aluminum heads 70hp
injectors 10hp
biger throtle boddy 10hp

throwing some numbers could be more or less depending what your willing to spend cause trust me frigging expensive the heads a set will cost you 1200 or even 1200 a peice

Dont waste your money chipping it, you wont notice it. All depends on the money you wanna spend for power...headers and a good exhaust system are a step up. I did the mass air conversion on my 89 and its the best money I spent on it. Super snappy and smooth.

get a 351 done.

will be most cost efficient too im sure. Hawk a wiring harness from a 351 motor-ed truck and replace where you have to right? everything else should mount up? or do you not even need to change the wiring

you can add a k&n air filter and cold air intake kit also upgrade your intake itself

upgrade your exhaust including some headers

upgrade your spark plugs, and coils and install a high performance ingnition
like msd

install a performance chip

upgrade your heads, use a better camshaft and crankshaft

add a supercharger

remember a engine is just a big air pump and the easier it can pump air the better !

The 351 will run off the 302 harness...which is what i did, but any changes to the motor will require a mass air conversion. The brackets and such do not match up to the 351 from the 302, I found out the hard way.

So do the Jet performance chip, or not?
and
will a throttle body help me out, my truck is stock right now? or should I do some other things first?

Thanks

so the 351 will use the 302 wiring harness and i take it u have to drill out new motormounts for it .right i also take it u have to use the 351 computer? right? and will the 351 bolt to a a0d4 tranny that comes with the 302?
