Default hooking rubber hose to steel trans cooler line

Hello. Im trying to install an extra trans cooler. My only issue so far is hooking the rubber hose from the new cooler to the factory steel cooler line.
i was able to get a barbed fitting for the radiator side but cant find a fitting to thread the steel line into.
Does anyone think the flare on the steel line would act as a barb if i just slip the hose over that.
or is there a part im overlooking.
thanks.

It should be fine, it's not a high pressure line. Use double clamps (2).

Double clamps x 2. I've had same setup with double clamps for 25 years on my '89.
