Default Hitch Question

I have a question over which hitch I should use on my truck. I am planning to eventually tow 6-7k lbs with it and need it to be sturdy. My uncle in construction claims he pulled a 11k lb bobcat with a bumper ball. I don't know about that, so I want to be sure its safe.
Bumper looks like this except on an F150 of course.

The step drops lower on mine so I don't know if the hitch in the picture would work

seems like as long as it is firmly attached to the frame it should be good. id go for a frame attached hitch if i could, i have a bumper ball with the stock bumper though.

If your hauling livestock especially in the mountains an equalizer hitch/sway bars would be better. If this is the case I would be leary of hauling with just the ball.

I use just the ball hitch hauling horses locally without a problem.

After my bumper tore off the second time I went with a Reese, but that doesn't look like your average bumper.

I got a reciever hitch from the junk yard for $35 including the wiring harness. Hard to beat.

When you decide you wanna buy my hitch, let me know. I'll throw in my trailer plug too.

I didn't mean to say that I haul horses off my bumper. No, I have a welded hitch under the truck (reese) that I haul with. I would never advise hauling anything off of a bumper.

I'd say the horses can keep up pretty well until around 30mph so you're not really pulling that much weight. Above that and the load will increase as they tire out...
