Help Removing Air Filter Housing
Hello, I recently purchased a 1995 f150 5.8L 4x4 ... well its time for the 1st oil change and i also wanted to replace the air filter while i was at it... When i went to change the air filter 3 out of the 4 screws on the housing won't come out ... they just spin and spin inside the hole and will not unscrew upwards! Any ideas on how to remove the screws so i can replace the air filter?? LOL ... Thanks in advance, Dustin

You don't have to unscrew anything you just undo the clips and lift the top of the air cleaner box, and there you go the air cleaner element is there to pull out and replace. below is the pictorials for the 4.9, 5.0, and 5.8L engines. The one for your truck is on the bottom. Look at the air cleaner assembly you there will be some clips which hold the air cleaner box down, On mine these clips are on the side of the air cleaner box facing the firewall unclip them and the top of the air box hinges off.

ok i looked for the clamps but there is not any there. on the attached photo i marked the screws i was talking about... when i removed the top left screw the corner of the housing comes up and i can see the air filter... so is there anyway i can remove the other 3 screws since they cannot unscrew upwards?? they just spin and spin LOL
